Coffee Making Methods – Making a Great Cup of Coffee

There are a variety of ways to make a cup of coffee. It can be as simple as spooning instant powder into hot water or as complicated as the processes that use sophisticated and expensive coffee makers. Several kinds of coffee making systems are available, some of them upgraded versions of age-old methods.

The espresso pressurized infusion machine is one of the more popular commercial coffee makers. Smaller and more affordable models for the home are becoming more common. The espresso process creates a cup of coffee by forcing water that is under boiling temperature through coffee grounds in order to create a cup of coffee. A precise blend of Arabica beans, usually with a dash of Robusta, will yield espresso coffee with a distinct crema or fine foam on its surface.

River Coffee

From the desk of Dixie Rose:I must have been about ten years old that summer more years ago than I care to admit to when my dad took my brother and me to the river for an overnight fishing and camping trip. Not that it was much of a “trip” — the river was only nine miles east of our house. It wasn’t our first camping and fishing trip, either; we had been lots of times, but this trip was special, and the special part didn’t have anything to do with the fishing or the camping. I’m getting to the “special” part. When we went camping, it really didn’t consist of much preparation. We threw some old blankets and a pot and frying pan in the back of the pickup truck, grabbed our fishing gear, and (More...)

Espresso Coffee Machines

From the desk of Dixie Rose:

Those who love espresso coffee also love their espresso coffee makers. When you happen to overhear them discussing their espresso coffee makers, you would think they were debating the advantage one sports car has over another rather than coffee makers. There are espresso coffee machine owners who believe that nothing can possibly compare to the coffee that a manual espresso coffee maker brews. There are those who swear that only the semiautomatic variety will make really, REALLY good coffee. Then there are those who wouldn’t dream of owning anything other than a fully automatic espresso coffee maker. According to them, only the fully automatic espresso coffee maker can make perfect coffee every time. And so, the debate rages on!

The manual espresso coffee machine owners tell you (and anybody (More...)

Types of Coffee Makers

From the desk of Dixie Rose:

Mankind (and womankind) has been drinking coffee for thousands of years. There are several stories about how the coffee bean was discovered and by whom, but it doesn’t really matter much. Today coffee is brewed and severed in countries around the world.Coffee is named many times for the region in which the beans are grown; Blue Jamaican Coffee, for example. Sometimes, though, coffee is named for the country or area that brews it; Turkish coffee, Italian coffee, etc. Coffees are varied, and so are the methods used for brewing it.

Turkish Briki: The coffee that is used in the Briki is powdered. It takes between 7 and 11 minutes to make a cup of coffee using the Briki. The coffee is very strong but clear.

And so, I’ve come up with this wonderfully scrumptious ****** mask. It works wonders on my skin. I can really see the difference after the mask. My skin actually glows and it was baby smooth to the touch. Absolutely delightful!! Plus the aromatic coffee scent lingers long after the mask is removed.
